"I Am Great!" Song: The Mayor sings about how great he is about his desire to either kill Mayzie's daisy or throw her out of town.Good-Times Montage: Mayzie getting famous and being seen everywhere.Grand Staircase Entrance: When the Mayor's royal assistant makes way for him using the Principal's books.Famous for Being Famous: The only reason Mayzie gets famous is because of something that was out of her control. In the Animated Adaptation, however, she does pass out. McGrew says, "I'm going to faint" when she sees that her daughter has a daisy growing from her head, and she's illustrated looking woozy, but she remains conscious.
The cover shows the part where The Cat in the Hat is shown bringing Mayzie home with her friends welcoming her when she comes at the very end.
Covers Always Lie: Subverted, it mostly spoils. Corner of Woe: Mayzie runs away and cries on a curvy cliff towards the end. Eisenbart hearing the Daisy's heart is more concerned about having a research grant instead of helping the poor girl. Comically Missing the Point: The Principal does nothing to help her, and Dr. Circle of Shame: All of the kids sing an extremely cringe-worthy and simple chant song about Mayzie and her Daisy. Can't Live Without You: Mayzie’s daisy is tied to her health, and when it started to wilt, Mayzie started to loose consciousness in the process. Averted in the reprinted version, in which the narrator appears in the beginning as a generic human, but otherwise has no real role in the story. Character Narrator: The Cat In the Hat narrates the story, and also helps to get Mayzie home. Bee Afraid: The bees chase after Mayzie for her daisy and she has to escape from them. It's never even stated why the Daisy even grew out of her head in the first place either. There was no reason for anything Mayzie went through. Adults Are Useless: The teacher, and the principal don't do anything to help Mayzie and her condition. An Aesop: The whole moral of the story is that your friends and family is more important than being famous and having it all.
Animation Bump: The animation is rather good considering the Hanna-Barbera is known for their cheap animation.A Dog Named "Dog": The Mayor is refereed to as such.Daisy Head Mayzie is a 1995 animated adaption from Hanna-Barbera based on the book of the same name.
